Terms of Use
Effective: September 19, 2026. These terms describe the basic rules for using the Children of One People website and its participation features. Submission-specific privacy, publication, and attribution notices remain controlling for those choices if they are more specific than these general terms.
Project status
Children of One People is a civic and constitutional proposal and deliberation project. Material on this site is not enacted law, an official government position, legal advice, or a substitute for professional legal advice. Drafts, RFCs, commentary, schedules, and supporting proposals have the status stated on the material itself and may be revised.
Who may use interactive features
The site is general-audience. Contributor accounts, feedback submission, and other interactive features are intended for people age 13 or older. Do not use another person's email address or account, impersonate another person, or attempt to obtain access to another contributor's submissions or private records.
Acceptable use
You may read, discuss, link to, and participate in the project through the available features. You may not use the site to attack its infrastructure or users, bypass access controls or rate limits, introduce malicious code, harvest private information, dox or threaten people, submit material you do not have the right to submit, or use automated systems in a way that materially interferes with ordinary operation.
Your submissions
You retain whatever copyright or other rights you hold in material you submit. By submitting material, you permit the project to receive, store, moderate, evaluate, and internally use it for the consultation and revision process. That internal processing permission is distinct from permission to publish.
The project may publicly reproduce, quote, or attribute a submission only in accordance with the publication and attribution choices presented with the submission and the site's privacy rules. Choosing private treatment does not grant public publication permission. Withdrawing publication permission is handled through the contributor or guest controls and privacy process described on the site.
Submitting an idea does not guarantee that it will be adopted, incorporated, answered individually, or credited as the source of a later independently developed project position. Review status is a process state, not a judgment that a contributor is correct or incorrect.
Public deliberation and revision history
The project intentionally preserves revision history, consultation records, and provenance where appropriate. Public materials may therefore show that a draft changed over time. A later revision does not make an earlier archived version current, and an archived record should not be presented as the project's present proposal.
Privacy
Use of personal information is described in the Privacy & Cookies notice. Privacy, publication, attribution, withdrawal, and account-closure controls are part of these terms and are not waived merely by using the site.
Site content and reuse
Do not assume that every item on the site carries the same reuse license. Some material may be original project material, some may be contributor material used with permission, and some may incorporate third-party material or references. Follow any license or attribution statement attached to a specific resource and applicable copyright law.
External services and links
The site may link to third-party resources or use service providers for hosting, email, security, or other operational functions. A link does not by itself endorse the linked site's views, and third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices in addition to any obligations we impose on their use here.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, repair, or discontinue site features when necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance, or project development. We may also update these terms. Material changes should be reflected by a new effective date and, where appropriate, a more direct notice to affected contributors.
Enforcement
Access may be limited when reasonably necessary to stop abuse, protect private information, preserve system integrity, or comply with law. Moderation or security action does not determine the merits of a contributor's political or constitutional viewpoint.
